About
Plan and Prose was created to help help nonprofit organizations, start-ups, and NGOs to meet their funding and impact goals. Our team has experience writing and winning dozens of grants and building programs that have long-term impact. From our expertise gained through serving a wide variety of organizations, we understand what grantors are looking for when they are seeking to fund an organization, and we weave the most salient details into each funding proposal.
Some of our successful grants include:
The Philadelphia Department of Commerce
The Wachovia/Wells Fargo Foundation
LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation)
Sylvia Okechukwu, MBA
Principal and Lead Grant Writing Consultant
Sylvia built the foundation of her career working in non-profits where she directed community/economic development initiatives in a high-potential neighborhood that was being prepared for major real estate development activity.
To support her programs, she wrote, contributed to, and won over $700,000 in grants. Sylvia also administered a facade improvement grant that provided funding and design assistance to small business owners who wanted to refresh their storefronts. She has also worked in real estate asset management and for a technology startup.
Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology of the Economy, Business and Society and a Bachelor of Arts Minor in Urban and Community Studies from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. For her graduate studies, she obtained an MBA from Rice University.
